Fixing media keys in Sway
TL;DR – Jump to the bottom to find the solution I installed Sway, my
favorite Wayland compositor, on Debian Trixie several weeks ago. There were
bumps along the way, as Wayland does things very differently than the X display
server tha I'm used to… but overall I have been pleased with the results. That
said, there has been one issue that had been a thorn in my side: my media keys
did not work.
Backups are important. Money is important. I don't want backups to take up all

In a previous post, I mentioned that I was receiving a bizarre error message: "Unable to create temporary work files". It turns out that it may not have been as bizarre as I had once thought.
This week, one of my co-workers began working on a ticket that I had started. The situation involved an ASP.NET script, a stored procedure, and CSV and Database data sources. It was a fairly complicated issue that involved a 3rd party - they supplied the CSV file. It turns out that they had changed the formatting of the CSV file, which botched up our import script quite thoroughly.
This has been driving me crazy for YEARS! Adobe Acrobat's Distiller feature constantly crashes, no matter what I'm using it for. But now, I have a solution.
